The Universe

Realms of the Empirical and Mythological

In the boundless expanse of Einsol’s Razor, a universe teeming with wonder, the tapestry of existence is woven from threads both factual and fantastical. This chapter invites you to venture to explore the mortal world of Adamah as well as beyond the mundane boundaries of the Material plane, delving into the intricate interplay between reality, lore, and mythology.

Adamah CE 2233 (Present Day)

The aftermath of The Sundering left the majority of the planet Adamah a radioactive wasteland, uninhabitable for human life. However, four large city states managed to establish themselves as safe havens, providing shelter and protection for their citizens. These city states are, for the most part, the only places where people can live without fear of radiation poisoning or other dangers.

Adamah Map.jpg

Beyond these city states, smaller communities have emerged, but they are limited in size and resources. These communities rely heavily on trade with the larger city states for goods and supplies, as they are unable to sustain themselves independently. Due to their isolation and lack of resources, these smaller communities are often self-governed and are considered to be lawless and of little-to-no benefit to the city states they rely upon. However, the larger city states have allowed these smaller communities to remain free, perhaps out of a sense of mercy or practicality, as they provide an important source of labor and trade. Despite their limitations, the smaller communities have managed to carve out a way of life for themselves, albeit a challenging one.

Over the years, rumors have circulated about other civilizations that may yet survived the war, but due to the vast expanses of the wasteland, it has been impossible to confirm or investigate these rumors. As a result, the fate of these lost civilizations remains a mystery, and the survivors, if any, continue to live in isolation, cut off from the rest of the world.

City States

The Holy Kingdom of Enoch

The Holy Kingdom of Enoch (HKE) is the ancestral home of the Vampires and is the third largest city state of the four realms of mortals. Located in the South Eastern deserts of The Scorched Wilderness, the HKE or New Mecca, is the heart of the Ohrmam faith and is central to the worship of The Ohros of Life. The cultural foundations of the HKE are rooted in the worship of life essence and abhors anything which would be viewed as an affront to life (i.e., Genetic Alterations, Cybernetic Replacement, the Enigma Machines). Although outwardly accepting of outsiders there is little tolerance of opposing faiths or doctrines taking root within its walls. Superficially, the HKE economy appears to be based around the sale of natural resources, but its true power and money comes from its black markets, corporate espionage and the sale of secrets.

The United Aerlyth Federation

image.png

The United Aerlyth Federation (UAF) is the smallest of the city states, yet houses the most diverse population on the planet. All mortals are welcome in the UAF under the rule of the Unified Eloharian Church. Although the faith of Ohros of The Material is not strictly enforced, the morals and ethics are. Citizens may believe in any Ohros they choose, but they must abide by the Laws of the One True Ohros of the State. Neuro Scanners are used to sweep the city for impure or sinful acts as well as unlawful uses of magic. Only those registered with the Magistrate, through chipping, may use magic and only spells regulated by the state can be used within UAF walls.

The Eastern Dwôrven Republic

The Eastern Dwôrven Republic (EDR) is the largest realm of the four with a massive economic advantage over all of the other city states. Originally founded by Dwôrves, the EDR has since become a hugely diverse and multifaceted thriving metropolis that focuses on enterprise and industry. Within its massive factories, smelters, and forges, the EDR is responsible for manufacturing everything from advanced technologies, Enigma Machine Frames, cybernetics, armor, weapons, raw steel and iron, to baby strollers. The nation's motto, which is etched into every forge, is, “Unbreakable in solidarity, we forge a future for all”. While faith remains a crucial element of EDR society, religion is perceived in a more lenient light. The Citizens of the EDR work hand-in-hand with Enigma Machines to process raw elements and ore within the massive forges of the EDR. Because Enigma Machines are impervious to the toxins, heat, and extreme environmental conditions of the factories and forges, they make up a large portion of the labor force.

The Sovereign Elven Dominion of Alnira

elven city.png

The Sovereign Elven Dominion of Alnira (SEDA) is an island city-state off the eastern coast of Alnira and is the second-largest realm. Although it was founded by Elves, SEDA has become a diverse society over time. The city state is renowned for its scientific innovation, advanced technology, and cutting-edge cybernetics, where magic and technology are constantly pushed to their limits in the pursuit of progress. For those seeking the latest and greatest in technology and magical advancement, SEDA is the place where it is manufactured, packaged, and sold. Science, evolution, magic, and evidence-based inquiry are the guiding principles of the Elves. SEDA is a unified nation of Elven ingenuity and efficiency, organized into districts designated and named by their respective purpose (i.e., Research and Development, Housing, and Industrial).

Outside the City States

The Elven Outland Societies

Following the Sundering war, Adamah saw the emergence of isolated pocket civilizations, each no larger than small towns, which rely predominantly on trade with major city states. These regions, either lawless or self-governed, offer minimal benefits to the major city states. Among these societies, Elven Outland communities stand out, with many Elves departing from the safety of the SEDA city state to embrace nomadic lifestyles across Adamah. The Dōngtiān Elves of the northern Indigo Permafrost region emphasize might over technology, living as nomadic hunters driven by a strict honor code. The Yasei Elves inhabit the Verdant Haven island within the Wastelands, merging unique magic and balanced technology to rejuvenate their challenging environment. Lastly, the Tahata Elves of the Ephemeral Expanse in lands beyond the HKE embody a fusion of traditional nomadism with contemporary advances, honoring their deep-rooted heritage while embracing the future.

Headquarters of the Knights of the Six

The Knights of the Six, a sacred Holy order, are revered as the Guardians of Faith, believed to be chosen by the Ohros to safeguard Adamah, especially if the gates to the Infernal realm ever threaten to open again. Their headquarters, a majestic stone fortress on a rugged island, serves both as a protective stronghold and a spiritual center. Within its high walls, the knights and their allies, the Havaza, train, reside, and worship in a grand temple dedicated to the Ohros. Although somewhat isolated, they maintain a steadfast dedication to honor, duty, and justice, and see themselves as the realm's steadfast defenders, guided by the divine will of the Ohros.

Lost Civilizations

The Gnomish Empire Bialbor

Bialbor, once a beacon of knowledge and exploration, was obliterated in an instant by a 50 megaton nuclear blast, which scarred the Northern Hemisphere of Adamah, causing global shockwaves and birthing the radioactive wasteland known as Devindra’s Desolation. Anticipating the looming conflict, Gnomish Emperor Tippin Rinki the Lesser commissioned an underground city for refuge. When war ignited, Bialbor's residents sought sanctuary underground, emerging over time as the secluded society of Gnomestead 2.0. Centuries of isolation have dimmed their once-bright disposition towards outsiders.

The Nation of Orisha in Li’en

Before the Sundering War, Li’en stood as a beacon of spirituality, its Orisha priests drawing learners from across Adamah. But as war neared, Li’en inexplicably vanished, cutting ties with billions, including the deeply connected Orisha. While many recounted fruitless searches for the missing homeland, rumors whispered of the Orisha harnessing Qan’eyra, the Ohros of The Ethereal, to relocate Li’en to a dream dimension. Protected from the war's ravages, they allegedly thrived there, preserving their spirituality. Despite a century's passing, some hold hope that the Orisha, still flourishing in their dream haven, will one day return to Adamah.

Orishian Cosmology and Mythology

For those players whose wish for their characters to place their faith in the supernatural, mythological or religious belief systems we have provided a historical account of the Universe through the eyes of the Orisha, Ethereal beings who will be discussed more in the chapter dedicated to Player Character Creation. The Orisha are said to have knowledge from the dawn of time, passing their stories and traditions from generation to generation through a ritual called, “The Ascension of Qan’eyra” All other faiths of Adamah have based their beliefs and religions around this one original story. Although each faith has altered the original texts there always remains a core of truth in each.

In the grand tapestry of existence, the universe unfurls across three interconnected realms, each pulsating with its own unique essence. At its heart lies the Azturium, a realm brimming with cosmic energy and the epicenter of all creation, where the divine hands of the Seven Ohros, the primordial beings, crafted the fundamental forces that govern existence.

Encompassing the Azturium is Asyndra, the Realm of Shape and Material, where the tangible aspects of reality take form. It is here that diverse worlds, landscapes, and mortal beings find their embodiment, governed by the laws of the physical realm.

Beyond Asyndra lies Bhiahra, the Outer Realms of Thought, Imagination, and Dreams, transcending physicality to explore the boundless realms of consciousness and infinite possibility. Here, thoughts manifest, dreams take shape, and the power of imagination weaves its intricate tapestry.

The Azturium, at the universe's core, houses the Great World Forge, Einsol, a boundless source of cosmic energy that births galaxies and gives life to cosmic creations. Orbiting it are Lumindra (Life), Eylirium (Time), Aetradasi (Order), Devindra (Entropy), and Arcanium (Magic), each representing an essential element of reality.

Einsol stands as the nexus where the Inner Realms converge, channeling cosmic energies to forge the fundamental forces of existence, guided by the divine Forgekeepers. Aetradasi embodies structure and mechanics, maintained by the Realityweavers, while Arcanium pulsates with pure arcane energy, shaping reality with living magic. Devindra, the Realm of Entropy, represents cosmic chaos, and Eylirium weaves the threads of time in an eternal tapestry.

Lumindra, the Realm of Life Energy, thrives with vibrant ecosystems, providing the vital life force for the Material Plane. Beyond the cosmic center, the Shadow Realm serves as a sentinel guarding the entrance to the Ethereal Plane, a realm of dreams and imagination that transcends tangible reality.

The Material Plane, Asyndra, cradled between the Azturium and Bhiahra, hosts three distinct realms: the Infernal Domains, the Celestial Stratum, and the mortal world of Adamah, separated by the Tetorlaious, a spiraling void acting as a bridge and barrier between worlds.

Religions of Adamah

In a world devoid of the physical presence of the Ohros, the Dieties of this world, mortals have crafted religions around tales of these divine entities, each representing core aspects of existence. From temples and shrines to complex beliefs, these religions offer solace, guidance, and a sense of purpose. The Six Ohros, encompassing everything from the universe's fabric to creation's spirit, have a glaring omission: the Ohros of Death, a deity shunned and feared. Various sects worship these deities, such as the Ohrmam, dedicated to the Ohros of Life, with principles on preserving life and nature. The Eloharian and Ancestral Tradition of the Eiyus emphasize material balance and cosmic origins, respectively. The Soka Gakkai pivots from time worship to a focus on evolution and progress. Orishian Spirituality stresses pacifism and harmony, while Alruohiarian followers see innovation as worship. Entropic Mysticism emerged post-war, valuing chaos's transformative power, and the Digital Divinity resonates with the spiritual connection of the Net's digital realm.

The Ohros (Dieties)

The Ohros, representing fundamental truths of reality like Space, Time, Death, Life, Ethereal, Material, and the Spirit of Creation, remain mysteriously absent in the current world. Still, their influence persists through magic, healing, and miracles. Despite their invisibility post the War of Blood, the Ohros' significance is paramount. Their origins are speculative, possibly from another plane of existence, but they're known to be powerful, genderless, formless, and immortal entities. Their depictions are diverse, products of mortal imagination, transcending binary alignments of good and evil, as they represent subjective perceptions rather than objective truths.

Vye-mis, The Ohros of Life

Vye-mis, the divine being of Life, stands as the eternal guardian of the first garden, a sanctuary where peace and growth abound. They wield the sacred white flame, the very essence that birthed the universe, bestowing life upon all its graces. Though Vye-mis appears serene and enigmatic, within them lies the luminous light of the moon, a symbol of beauty, purity, and love for all of nature's creations.

Vu’hurael, The Ohros of Death

Vu’hurael Ohors of Death 2.jpg

In the time before their tragic fall, Vu’hurael was among the most revered of the Seven Ohros. As the guardian of the Elohim—souls of all living beings—Vu’hurael ushered them from the Material world. They provided safe passage through the darkness, offering solace and sanctuary to those who had lost hope. Bearing the title "Guiding Light," Vu’hurael once shared a profound connection with the inner mortal realm, illuminating the understanding that death was a natural aspect of life, to be neither feared nor shunned, but embraced and accepted.

Eiyus, The Ohros of Space

Eiyus, the Ohros of Space, embodies the vast cosmos and the infinite tapestry upon which the universe is woven, extending far beyond the limits of mortal understanding. As the guardian of cosmic equilibrium, Eiyus maintains the delicate balance of universal energy and upholds the law of conservation. With neither beginning nor end, they encompass all celestial phenomena, from pulsars and supernovae to red dwarfs, and everything that lies within the realm of the known and unknown.

Kairos, Ohros of Time

Kairos Ohros of Time 1.jpg

The very embodiment of cause and effect, Kairos, the Ohros of Time, governed all things destined to unfold and yet to transpire. However, as the centuries passed, Kairos' followers shifted their reverence, hailing them as the Ohros of Change, Evolution, and Progress. Today, Kairos symbolizes the relentless tide of technological advancement, ever propelling the world forward.

Qan'eyra, Ohros of The Ethereal

Qan'eyra, the Ohros of The Ethereal, is the keeper of dreams and the intangible essence of magic and cosmic energy. They are said to bring dreams to the slumbering mortal world, instilling inspiration for greater deeds upon waking. Some mortals even claim to have glimpsed or heard Qan'eyra's call within the deepest recesses of magic, an experience that has often driven them to the brink of madness.

Joh'etyx, Ohros of The Material

Joh'etyx Ohros of The Material 2.jpg

Joh'etyx, the Ohros of The Material, is the spirit of the Material Realm and embodies all that the Ohros brought into existence from the void. They represent the ability to harness the inherent power within all things and shape it into a controllable form, allowing the manipulation of reality through mere thought.

Alruoh'ai, Ohros of The Spirit of Creation

Alruoh'ai, the Ohros of The Spirit of Creation, embodies the exhilarating joy of inspiration and the boundless, untamed energy of design, ingenuity, and execution of ideas. They represent acts of genius through creation, encouraging individuals to take risks and attempt feats that others might consider impossible or irrational.
