Buy It Once. Own It Forever. What's Changing and Why.
We're changing how Einsol's Razor is sold, and we want to be straight with you about it.
Until now, the site offered a $5 monthly Player subscription. Part of what it unlocked was game content: subclasses, genotypes, new drops. The longer we sat with that, the less we could stand behind it. It meant that if you stopped paying, you could lose access to content your characters were built on. You would have paid for something and then had it taken back.
We play these games too. The thing we hate most as players is renting our own stuff. So we cut it.
Here is the new model.
You buy content once and you own it forever. The Character Codex, the Core Rule Book, the Game Master's Sourcebook, the adventures, or individual pieces à la carte. One-time purchase, yours to keep, in your account for as long as the game exists. It does not expire and it does not get pulled out from under you. Books come in digital or physical, and every physical copy includes the digital version free.
The first five levels are free, forever. Play on our system at no cost: all six base classes, your subclass path opening at level 4, genotypes, backgrounds. A real, playable game, not a demo. When you want the rest, the full level 6 to 20 progression, you buy the Character Codex once and own it. The rules are free to read and play on the site. The book is the version you own and can take anywhere.
There is still one subscription, and we want to be honest about why. The GM Suite, around $10 a month, is the full toolset for running the world: the Virtual GM Notebook, maps with fog of war, generators, world-building, the asset vault, co-GM sharing. That is hosted software with a real monthly cost on our end, every day, whether or not anyone logs in. A subscription is the honest way to pay for a living service. So the GM Suite stays a subscription. But notice what is not in it: game content. The adventures and sourcebooks a GM uses are content they own, the same as their players. Cancel the GM Suite and you lose the live tools. You keep every book you ever bought.
So the line we are drawing is simple. You buy content. You rent service. We never rent you content.
If you have ever bought anything from us, it stays yours. If you have characters saved, they are not going anywhere. We do not delete what you made.
And there is a reason this matters more than a typical pricing page. What you are buying into isn't only a system, it's a saga. Prophecy of the Six is a story that grows every time we ship an adventure, each one adding new spells, genotypes, classes, and places to play. Owning your content means owning your piece of that world as it expands.
We are a two-person team building this in the open, heading toward a Kickstarter for the four core books. We would rather grow slower with a model we can defend than faster with one we can't. This is us choosing the version we can look you in the eye about.
